Today I decided to run on 11th thinking that would be warmer than my typical route up City Creek.

I left the house around 9am after my second meeting and was headed for an some sort of an easy run.

I dressed warm, 3 layers on top, hat plus the hood of my running top and gloves...a mile into my run I removed the hood ..then by the turn around point at the intersection w Virginia St. I was overheated and took my gloves off...the run back was better as my legs were moving better than in the first 3 miles...It was hard to breathe the cold air so the run did not feel as easy..plus I keep having the issue with my hamstrings being too sore (at the glute attachments)all the time...

I was happy that I was able to run up the hill of the capitol (1 mile straight up) without stopping until I got home...that is over a 10 min mile...ouch...

I feel I am getting slower but at least I am enjoying the scenery...it might be the cold weather?? Or maybe the cycling camp at Contender that leaves me tired w/o legs every Tues/Thurs

Av. pace was 8:14

WOW!!! That is a super fast pace to keep climbing up to the capitol. Yikes, I would not even dare to attempt it!

I do not cycle, but the days after my gym workouts are always slower and I am sore, so I am sure the cycling makes your legs tired. But, in the end, it all makes you stronger and TOUGH!!!

I run slower in the winter, it is harder to breathe for sure!

Dulce - meet Kelli. LOL! We already talked about you.

Kelli - Do you know any bloggers in Dulce's area?

From Kelli on Fri, Dec 04, 2009 at 18:30:16 from 71.219.71.229

Dang, you talked about me and I missed it. Actually, it is probably better that way.

Ummm, I dunno. I know Walter runs in City Creek often (although I am not sure he does in the winter). Fly on the wall runs down there a bit, although I am unsure where he lives exactly. That is all I can think of, but there has to be a bunch. Walter would be good to ask.

From Kelli on Fri, Dec 04, 2009 at 18:32:02 from 71.219.71.229

Wait, Allie lives down there somewhere, at least she runs down there a lot. She would be better to check with than Walter!

Welcome to the blog. I run up City Creek Canyon at noon but I'm starting to run on the Treadmill more and more. I really slow down in the freezing weather. Its the cold air entering my lungs I think that slows me down.

Cycling class plus running...sounds like a triathlete...

From Burt on Fri, Dec 04, 2009 at 18:43:24 from 12.231.112.98

Kelli - we were just talking about how cool you are. Or as they say in Spain, guay!

I thought allie lives up in Logan right now. but yes, stay away from Walter. (He's crazy.) LOL!

From Kelli on Fri, Dec 04, 2009 at 18:44:44 from 71.219.71.229

Burt, you are far better at keeping track of people than I am, so you would know. I am a slacker blogger, I can not keep track of as many people as you!!

So, Dulce, you will just have to travel south and run with all of us I guess.

From Lyman on Fri, Dec 04, 2009 at 18:58:33 from 170.135.241.46

Burt- did you go to Spain? I haven't heard guay forever!

Dulce- sorry about using you blog to write to Burt. So are you from Spain?

From Burt on Fri, Dec 04, 2009 at 19:03:17 from 12.231.112.98

Yes, I did. Didn't you go to Argentina Lyman? Or your mom is from Argentina? Or you used to live there? Or all of the above?

From Lyman on Fri, Dec 04, 2009 at 19:56:14 from 75.169.190.17

Burt - I grew up in South America (Chile, Argentina, Paraguay) and also lived in Spain. Mom is argentine and my dad was born in the mormon colonies in Mexico. English is my second language as you probably noticed on my blog(only Spanish at home). Did you serve a mission in Spain?

Sorry about that Dulce. We'll try not to make your blog all about Burt and me.

From Burt on Fri, Dec 04, 2009 at 20:31:48 from 12.231.112.98

Yes. I served in the Barcelona Spain mission. Dulce nos perdonara porque ya la envie un mensaje y se que ella tambien es superguay.

Welcome to the blog. I know your route well. Its one of my favorite places to run. I work for SLC in their sign department and im the one that has the white truck with flashing lights that annoy you Avenue runners. I run there on my lunch break alot too. Keep up the good work.

Today my husband and I ran with the foothill runners...brisker pace for us but that is good sometimes.

I got in 10 miles starting at 6:30 am at 7:50average pace. Cold...17F, my hands were cold the second part of the run once my gloves got wet from the first part...

Nice morning.

Today I ran twice. 7 miles around lunch with Walter (thanks for getting me out the door in such a cold day) and then 3 miles at the JCC on the treadmill before picking up my son.

It was so cold today (or it felt like) that I put on so many layers that overdressed :-)...I even remove my gloves on my last mile up capitol hill.

That's weird. I could have swore I put a comment here. Something about hoping you were able to stay up with Walter. Well, hope you're not freezing too bad up there today.
